Leading of the Holy Spirit

Prov 20:27 "The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the inner depths of his heart." NKJV Rom 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

Rom 8:16 "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,"

John 16:13-14 NKJV "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you."

Acts 27:10 NKJV “saying, "Men, I perceive that this voyage will end with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and ship, but also our lives."

Acts 16:6-10 NKJV "Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.

7 After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.

8 So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.

9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

10 Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them."

From the scriptures you can see that the children of God are to be led by the Spirit of God, and this He does through your spirit. (Rom. 8:14,16; Prov. 20:27)

1 Thess 5:23 NIV “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

According to 1 Thess. 5:23, You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. God doesn't speak to your head, He speaks to your heart- your spirit. That is how God communicates with his Children. The primary way is by the inward witness of the Holy Spirit. In other words, the Spirit of God bears witness with your spirit that something is true, or not true. When the Spirit of God is leading you through your spirit to do something, or go a certain direction, there will be a witness or agreement that you are headed the right direction, accompanied by peace.

Isa 55:12 NAS "For you will go out with joy, And be led forth with peace;"
